Two Generations In
Robert Host Jr. started working with his father from the age of 12, learning tree work firsthand instead of out of a book. His father ran his own tree service, and that's the trade Robert grew up in, on job sites rather than in a classroom, picking up details that don't show up in any manual, including how to treat a customer's property like it was his own, and to be honest about what a job actually needs.
Host Tree, Landscaping and Masonry Services officially started in 2002, once Robert had spent years working alongside his father and knew the trade well enough to run it himself. He later added masonry to the business too, after spending 11 years as a union mason back in the 1990s, and today he owns the equipment for both sides of the work, so nothing gets subcontracted out to anyone else.

Old-School Values
The core of it is simple: treat every property like it's your own, and be truthful and honest about what a job actually needs, even if that's not the answer someone was hoping for. That's the standard Robert learned from his father, and it's the one the business still runs on.
